有这么一种植物，名叫【泰坦魔芋】，可以符合以上三个特点，唯一不同的是没有“香气四溢”，而是“臭气熏天”

泰坦魔芋

【产地】 原产于印尼苏门答腊岛
泰坦魔芋－－世界上最大的“花”（这里需要注意一点：所谓它的花，其实是一个花序。“花冠”其实是肉穗花序的总苞－天南星科植物特有的“佛焰苞，“花蕊”其实是肉穗花序。所以，世界上最大的花，还是“大花草”的花。）
泰坦魔芋原产于印度尼西亚苏门达腊的热带雨林地区，是世界上最大的花，花朵的直径长1.5米，高则将近3米，人们普遍认为这是世界上最大的花。这种植物一般能活150年左右，在它的生命期内只开两三次花。
泰坦魔芋花最大的特点就是它散发出的味道，和一般的花朵不同，它不但没有香味，还臭的惊人，闻起来很像腐烂尸体发出的气味，因而它也被称为“尸体花”。这种气味正是泰坦魔芋“传宗接代”的法宝，它能吸引昆虫到自己身上产卵，等幼虫发育成熟，就可以帮自己传播花粉了。它有着类似马铃薯一样的根茎。等到花冠展开后，呈红紫色的花朵将持续开放几天的时间，散发出的尸臭味也会急剧增加。当花朵凋落后，这株植物就又一次进入了休眠期。而它散发出的像臭袜子或是腐烂尸体的味道，是想吸引苍蝇和以吃腐肉为生的甲虫前来授粉。它非常艳丽，比你能想象到的任何东西都要美，然而这种美得出奇的花朵确实是生长在我们这个星球上的，现在依然还有存在于世界之中。
这种魔芋由植物学家Odoardo Beccari于1878年发现。当时，他寄了一些种子给英国皇家植物园(Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew) 。1889年，泰坦魔芋首度于英国皇家植物园开花。
魔芋寿命长达数年，可是开花的时间却很短，顶多数日，然后长出果实后，很快就枯萎，所以很难看到它的踪迹。它会发出一种令人作恶如尸肉腐败的味道，因此，又称之为尸花(corpse flower)。
尸花魔芋在野生的状态下本来就不常开花，而在人工栽培的环境下会开花的个体就更加稀少。近年来，人工栽培的尸花魔芋数量已经逐渐变多，使得巨花魔芋不再是稀有罕见的植物。尸花是一种寄生植物，它从其他植物中偷取营养，并迷惑昆虫为其授粉。
古时称为蒟蒻，又名鬼头、鬼芋、花秆莲、麻芋子、蛇头草、花秆大南星等，是一种天南星科、魔芋属多年生草本植物。植株有营养株与开花株之分，通常营养株只长叶不开花，而开花株则只抽花序。两年生以上植株才可能开花，但一般一棵植株当年若开花则不长叶，长叶则不开花，即所谓“花、叶不见面”。
而它遥远的祖先“尸香魔芋”，早已灭绝千年之久，这种魔鬼之花，用它妖艳的颜色，诡异的清香，制造出一个又一个由幻相所组成的陷阱，引诱着人们走向死亡，传说中“尸香魔芋花”就是守护索罗门王宝藏的恶鬼。

魔芋的地下球茎
芋地下球茎的形状和荸荠很相似，但要大很多，有的可重达十多公斤。鲜球茎中含有有毒生物碱，医药上外用，有解毒消肿的功能，不能生食，经过加工和煮熟后，便可放心食用了。
魔芋中的可溶纤维素有促进胃肠蠕动及润肠通便功能，能把肠道中的有毒物质迅速排出体外，从而有效地防止便秘，并对结肠癌、痔疮、静脉瘤有辅助治疗作用。此外，它还有减少体内胆固醇积累的作用，对防治高血压、动脉硬化有重要意义。魔芋还是独特的食品添加剂，如将少量魔芋粉添加在食品中，既能增加营养，又能改善食品品质。

据《中国日报》报道据英国《每日邮报》5月31日报道，近日在国际花卉市场上，一种颇具特色的七色“彩虹玫瑰”惊艳现身。据了解，这些“彩虹玫瑰”由白玫瑰变化而来。具体的培育方法是，在白玫瑰的培育水中添入各种食用色素和染料，白玫瑰的茎部吸收这些染料后，就会相应的显现在花瓣上。至于不同的花瓣为何呈现出不同的颜色，这就不得而知了，因其涉及商业秘密。
